Sailing into Forever: A Coastal New England Wedding at Wentworth by the Sea

Love stories are as unique as the couples who share them, and for Rebecca and Jack, the tale of their wedding weekend along the North Shore of coastal New England is nothing short of extraordinary. Their journey to ‘I do’ was a celebration of family, cherished memories, and a shared passion for the sea.

From the outset, Rebecca and Jack made it clear that their family sailboat, “Sundance,” held a special place in their hearts. To weave this nautical love into the fabric of their wedding, the couple decided to embark on a memorable journey, sailing Sundance from Ipswich to Wentworth by the Sea. This maritime adventure set the stage for their first look and portraits, capturing the essence of their connection with the open waters.

As wedding planners, our task was to create an atmosphere that mirrored the couple’s love for the sea and incorporated Rebecca’s favorite color, pink. The result was a coastal tented wedding that perfectly encapsulated the yacht vibe the couple held dear.

Pink became the guiding hue throughout the entire celebration, from the carefully curated floral arrangements to the smallest details, like Jack’s personal vows written on blush-toned paper. The wedding invitation stationery featured Sundance prominently, creating a visual bridge between the couple’s love story and the joy they wished to share with their 200 guests.

The commitment to personalization extended to the beverage offerings, with signature drinks named “Pretty in Pink Paloma” and “Bermuda Bliss.” The latter paid homage to a place close to the couple’s hearts, reflecting the many cherished memories they shared in Bermuda.

The reception venue was adorned with a stunning pink wall, featuring hand-written love notes to their guests. Monogrammed golf balls and bar decals drew inspiration from the illustrations in the invitation suite, creating a cohesive and personalized aesthetic.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the heartfelt moments unfolded. Speeches resonated with emotion, parent dances spoke of generations past, and Rebecca and Jack’s first dance marked the beginning of a new chapter. The cake cutting, adorned with vibrants florals, was a sweet symbol of their union.

The night unfolded with laughter, joy, and the lively beats of a packed dance floor. Rebecca and Jack danced the night away, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Their wedding weekend was a testament to the power of personalization, capturing the essence of their love story and creating memories as enduring as the tides that brought them together.

In the end, it was more than just a wedding. It was a celebration of love, family, and the beautiful journey that began with a sailboat named Sundance.
