A Miracle Wedding: Tented Celebration in Bedford, Massachusetts

When Kelly and Tommy first approached me over a year ago, I immediately sensed their kind hearts and their desire to create a wedding that truly reflected their personalities. They wanted to celebrate their love and their community in the town of Bedford, Massachusetts, where they both grew up and still live. With plans to include their beloved dogs, hand-thrifted antique china, and a unique “flash mob” processional, their wedding promised to be truly special.

However, unexpected news forced the couple to pivot their plans. Kelly’s doctor delivered the heartbreaking news that she would not be able to bear children, and the couple had to rethink their guest list and wedding budget to prioritize alternative routes to family planning. But just three months before their fall wedding, Kelly delivered miraculous news: she was pregnant! With a newfound sense of joy and purpose, the couple decided to include a gender reveal during their wedding’s cocktail hour.

As their wedding planner, I was honored to support Kelly and Tommy during this vulnerable time. They entrusted me with their secrets and even asked me to keep the gender of their baby a surprise until the big reveal. Our relationship developed beyond a typical professional partnership, as we grew to become close friends who supported each other through the ups and downs of life.
