A Blue Hydrangea Dream on the Cape
On June 28, 2026, Susan & Nick celebrated their wedding at the iconic Wychmere Beach Club in Harwich Port, Massachusetts, a venue that perfectly reflected their love for Cape Cod’s coastal charm and timeless beauty. From the very first conversation, Susan had a clear vision: a periwinkle blue hydrangea dreamscape filled with elegance, emotion, and the essence of summer by the sea.
This was a day where design met heart. Every detail was intentional, every moment unforgettable. From heartfelt toasts to the laughter of Holy Cross alums, and the pure joy radiating from Nick each time he looked at Susan, love filled every corner of the celebration.
Designing the Hydrangea Dreamscape
Susan’s design inspiration stemmed from Cape Cod’s most beloved bloom, the blue hydrangea. We set out to create a setting that felt immersive yet refined, surrounding guests in soft periwinkle tones, airy whites, and lush floral textures that embodied seaside romance.
Working alongside BUDS Floral Design, we transformed the ballroom and terrace into a hydrangea-filled haven. Elegant, layered, and bursting with fresh, coastal color. From cascading arrangements to delicate accents tucked into every tablescape, the florals became the heartbeat of the design.
And even when rain threatened, the skies parted just in time for an outdoor cocktail hour overlooking the harbor, where guests sipped spritzes and basked in the Cape breeze.
A Celebration Filled With Surprises
The day flowed effortlessly from heartfelt moments to pure celebration, each turn bringing something unexpected and delightfully “them.” Guests discovered:
- A Don Julio tequila bar that became an instant favorite
- An Aperol Spritz wall that added a burst of color (and fun!)
- Custom tumblers for the dance floor, perfect for keeping drinks in hand all night
- Endless mini desserts in the couple’s favorite flavors
- And finally, a beach-shop-inspired after-party, complete with coastal decor, late-night snacks, and energy that carried through well past midnight
It was the kind of wedding that reminded everyone of what summer on Cape Cod feels like — lighthearted, joyful, and impossibly beautiful.

What made Susan & Nick’s celebration truly special wasn’t just the details, it was the warmth of the people who filled the space. Family and lifelong friends, Holy Cross classmates, and loved ones gathered to celebrate a love story rooted in authenticity and joy.
