Before the floral-filled tent and oceanfront vows, Hil & Will kicked off their Cape Cod wedding weekend in the most fun, relaxed way possible, with a bowling alley welcome party in Orleans, Massachusetts. True to their personalities, they wanted something casual, lighthearted, and interactive: an evening that brought everyone together, broke the ice, and set the tone for the joyful celebration to come.
The goal? A night full of laughter, connection, and a little friendly competition.
A Cape Cod Spin on a Classic Bowling Night
Guests were greeted with warmth and whimsy the moment they walked through the doors. To make everyone feel instantly at home, Hil & Will welcomed friends and family with classic L.L. Bean boat-and-tote welcome bags, each one filled with Cape Cod essentials: local treats, sunscreen, and a custom-stitched baseball cap featuring the coordinates of Orleans and the silhouette of Cape Cod.
It was the perfect nod to their roots: effortlessly coastal, thoughtful, and totally “Hil & Will.”
Strike a Pose!
Keeping with the theme of fun and spontaneity, we set up a “Strike a Pose” photo camera station so guests could capture the spirit of the evening. Between the flash of bowling balls and laughter echoing down the lanes, the night was full of moments that perfectly reflected the couple’s joyful energy.
These playful candids became some of everyone’s favorite keepsakes, a lighthearted contrast to the elegance of the wedding day to follow.
BBQ, Friendly Competition, and Endless Smiles
Dinner was simple, classic, and crowd-pleasing: a Cape Cod BBQ spread that felt as relaxed as it was delicious. Guests grabbed plates, shared stories, and settled into a night of bowling, music, and lots of friendly rivalry.
